Verstappen Takes Pole in Tricky Conditions
Max Verstappen claimed his first pole position of the 2022 Canadian Grand Prix with a brilliant performance in treacherous conditions.
The Red Bull Racing driver put in a stunning lap in the wet-dry qualifying session to secure his spot at the front of the grid for the 70-lap race around the 4.361-kilometer Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.
Verstappen's dominance continued throughout qualifying, as he led the way in every session. Despite the changing track conditions, the Dutch driver managed to keep his head and claim his first pole of the season.
The 2022 Canadian Grand Prix is officially known as the Formula 1 AWS Grand Prix du Canada 2022. It was held on 19 June and marked the ninth round of the 2022 Formula One season.
