Jones Aims to Gift Ball to Hester in Honor of Kickoff Tradition
The Hall of Fame Game, featuring the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans, will be broadcast on ESPN, ABC and ESPN Deportes at 8 pm ET on Wednesday, August 1.
Bears' kick returner Dwayne Jones plans to return a kickoff during the Hall of Fame game and gift the ball to Devin Hester, a nod to Hester's dedication to keeping the kickoff in professional football.
Hester, a Suncoast, Florida native, was nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 2021 but was not inducted.
Despite the absence of a Hall of Fame induction, Hester made countless highlights throughout his career as an elite kick returner. Seven new players will officially be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, August 5.
